- Why is it cool? Gears of War 2 is the second episode in this trilogy featuring the fight on the world of Sera between the humans and the Locust, a subterranean race of creatures set on world domination. Marcus Phoenix returns as our hero to pick up his trusty chainsaw bayonet rifle for more gory, over-the-top action. The first game featured excellent gameplay and graphics and the sequel looks to up the ante. New weapons, enemies, and game types have been added. The most anticipated feature seems to be the new "horde mode" in which players fight against wave after wave of incoming enemies to see how long they can survive. The enemies grow in difficulty as the mode progresses. Another highly anticipated feature is the chainsaw duel, in which two players fight with their chainsaw bayonets until one player is rewarded with a messy and victorious kill. This should be a very exciting game with tons of great action and a pretty cool, if slightly cro-magnon, story. Learn more about it here.

Amazingly fun game. The story mode is great and online multiplayer raises the bar further. If you like a challenging and extremely over the top shooter experience go get this one now. Three thumbs up.
